Survey highlights consumer activity

The latest BankSA State Monitor survey released last week reveals business and consumer confidence is on the rise in South Australia.

The survey shows business confidence has jumped by 2.8 points since February to 121.4 points and consumer confidence is up 4.4 points to 112.9.

Consumers and businesses also have increased confidence around job security and intentions to hire in the coming months.

Contributing factors cited in the survey include the long-term outlook for South Australia; the outcome of the recent state election; performance of small business; opportunities for business owners; and retail sales.

Consumers also recorded a 36% in the perception of business activity in South Australia while business reported a 15% increase.

The likelihood of creating additional employment in the next three months also increased 9% amongst businesses in South Australia.
