Runway event arrives in style

Judging for the 2022 Recycled Runway is under way, with the exciting event fast approaching later this month.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the annual event, which will be a magical evening at the St Martins Lutheran College gymnasium

There was a record number of entries received this year and judges were anticipate the best show yet.

Contestants have been creative with this year’s Enchanted Forest theme, with peacocks and fairies amongst the entries.

The Recycled Runway initiative raises funds for ac.care while highlighting the issue of textile waste as one of the major contributors to landfill and encouraging sustainability, creativity and connected communities.

Contestants will showcase their skills in categories including novice, experienced and open along with an un-modelled category for those wanting to design and create non-fashion items, which will be displayed and judged by the public.

Grant High School, Tenison Woods College, St Martins Lutheran College, Penola High School, McDonald Park Primary School and Glenburnie Primary School will be competing for the Battle of the Schools trophy this year.

The event will begin at 7pm on August 27 and will be fully catered with plenty of ‘Enchanted Forest’ themed food and beverages, including various main courses and desserts.

For further details visit the Recycled Runway Mount Gambier Facebook page and tickets can be purchased via Stickytickets.
