Beachport is set to host a candidates’ forum ahead of the upcoming four-yearly election for Wattle Range Council.

Serving councillor Sharon Cox and newcomers Richard Cassidy and Carrie Adamo are seeking the two vacancies on Kintore ward.

The two incumbents were elected unopposed at the two last polls in 2014 and 2018.

Cr Kevin McGrath is leaving local government while Cr Peter Dunnicliff is looking to extend his 16-year council career by standing in Corcoran ward.

Cr Cox has served four terms (16 years) as a Corcoran ward representative but nowadays lives in Kintore ward at Beachport.

The Beachport District Development Association is staging the candidates’ forum but a venue, date and time have yet to be announced.
