Book enthusiasts are being invited to join Mercedes Mercier at an author event tonight at the Port MacDonnell Community Complex to dive into her new release, White Noise.
White Noise depicts the dangerous relationship between a prison psychologist and an inmate.
A book that will keep you on the edge of your seat with twists and turns from the challenges of the prison system to aftershocks of trauma.
The first-time author has experience working in the criminal justice system.
Having had her own brush with death, Ms Mercier is also an avid listener of true crime podcasts which has expanded her knowledge of prisons, crime and offenders.
Her unique insight into the world of crime has also sparked a rush of inspiration as a second novel is due to be published in 2023.
Grant District Council’s Growth and Tourism Manager Rebecca Perkin was pleased to be able to host a variety of authors at the complex.
“The popular author events provide an enticing opportunity to peek behind the curtain of writing processes and getting to know the author,” she said.
“Past events have been well attended by the community as well as budding authors and readers.
“We look forward to working with more authors into the future to continue providing captivating experiences.”
Ms Mercier will be signing copies of her book, and complimentary drinks and nibbles will be provided throughout the night, supported by The Bay Town Group Association.
While the event is free, bookings are essential.
Contact the Port MacDonnell Community Complex on (08) 8738 3000 to book your spot or to find out more this event and other upcoming author events.
The author event will start at 6.30pm.
