Beachport is set to follow the example of other towns by establishing a wellness group.
Its coffers were boosted from the proceeds of a raffle at the International Women’s Day function at the Beachport Hotel.
Around 70 men and women heard Beachport resident Linda Carter Shepherd talk for 45 minutes.
Fellow Beachport resident Heather Burdon said it was a very poignant and educational address regarding women’s mental health and associated issues.
“It was very well received by the captive audience,” Ms Burdon said.
