Week two of the finals this week and one team will book a grand final spot.
On Saturday the second semi-final final will take place between Mundulla and Border Districts.
Both sides met only once this year and that game ended up in a strong victory for the Eagles.
This time around both sides will be at a much different stage.
The Tigers will look to have the inclusions of Darcy King, Nick and Dylan Mosey, Nathan Studham and Daniel Noll back in the lineup from the one that played against Border Districts the last time they met.
Darcy King will be the big question mark and if he is ready to play after injuring his hamstring in round 13 against Kingston.
The Tigers love this time of year and they love playing at home, so this will be a tough game for the Eagles.
Border Districts will love their chances.
The Eagles will take a lot of confidence from last Saturday’s victory and the fact they did defeat Mundulla at Mundulla.
Sometimes things like that can boost a team.
The Eagles will again look to the usual players to do damage for them as they have all year.
Dylan Schoenmakers was damaging against the Crows as he played further up the field in the qualifying final.
Mark Quinn was thought to be missing the qualifying final, but he played and contributed to the victory with two goals.
Isaac Hewson, Mackenzie Bowler and Fraser Adams are three other players who have had great years and are vital to the Eagles if they want to go all the way.
Border Districts are the last team to defeat Mundulla as the Tigers have won nine straight games since then.
Mundulla will be favourites to make that 10 in a row with a victory on Saturday over the Eagles.
On Sunday it is do or die as the Keith Crows will play the Kingston Saints in a rematch of the 2021 classic first semi-final when the Crows won with an after-the-siren goal.
Both teams still have a few players who were involved in that game and this weekend’s game could end up being just as close.
Keith enters the game having played hard the week before, but a few second-half lapses cost them against the Eagles.
The Schreiber boys in Will and Seb were superb and Billy Wade looked in great form during the game against the Eagles.
George Johnson will be a watch for this week as he hobbled off with a big corkie in the last quarter.
George was a massive reason why the Crows won in round 16 against the Saints and the Crows will be hoping he is right to play.
Jacob Graetz or Aydon Inness will likely get the job on in-form Saints key forward/ruckman James Siviour if he starts the game in the forward line.
James is a hard player to match up on as he is a great mark and he only needs 5 or 6 shots on goal to hurt the opposition with his straight kicking action.
Kingston was at their best on Sunday with their ball movement.
William Watts’s addition to the team on Sunday made the side look different as his quick thinking and quick hands can open up things around the packs for his teammates to break clear.
William’s brother Campbell also can work as an inside mid or as a rebounding halfback who sets everything up like a quarterback.
In some ways, this game could come down to who is better between Will Schreiber and Campbell Watts in being the driving force off the half-back line setting up attacking plays that end in scores for their respective team.
Daniel Bibby, Lewis Hender and Seb Schreiber will need to win their fair share of the ball to get it into the Crows forward line often if they are to get across the line.
Kingston is the same with Thomas Matsouliadis, Ethan Murdock, Chris Draper, Jack Armfield and Ben Warner needing to win their share of the ball going the other way.
This game has all the feelings of another classic and it is one the Crows will start the slight favourite in.
Kingston will not mind that and will try and cause the upset.
