Members of the public recently had the opportunity to get up close and personal with the Southern Ranger when it was berthed at the Lake Butler Marina at Robe.
Owned and operated by the State Government, it is a 22 metre patrol vessel with a 1000 nautical mile cruising range.
Equipped with state-of-the-art surveillance and communication technology, the Southern Ranger plays a vital role in monitoring both commercial and recreational fishers in South Australia.
PIRSA Fisheries officers were on hand at the open inspection to answer questions from the public.
