Pitt putts way to Veterans victory

On a fine but very chilly day, 53 South East Veteran players turned up at Lucindale Country Club to discover the course in great shape.

Predictably, local Evan Pitt had the day’s best score with 38, taking out first division from Paul Bosco with 35 and Greg Cook on 34.

Second division was won by John Kirby (Mount Gambier) 35 points from Wayne “Wombat” Peters (Beachport) and Alex Juokoff (Blue Lake) with 34.

The ball rundown was to 28 points and the Ross Orchard trophy was won by Max Clifford and Phil Bliss.

Robe’s Peter Tobin went home with the Scotch.

The group’s next match is at Millicent on July 15 followed by Robe on July 29.

GREAT GOLFERS: Wayne Peters, John Kirby, Alex Juokoff and Max Clifford had a successful day out at Lucindale.
