Skills on show in Qualifying Final preview

With two rounds to go in the Kowree Naracoorte Tatiara Football League regular season the top five is set in place ready for the finals to start in two weeks’ time.

Keith and Mundulla played in a preview of the qualifying final on Saturday where the Crows prevailed in a highly skilled contest.

The contest was a close affair right up until three quarter time where the Crows led by five points.

Keith got on top in the fourth quarter and kicked away from Mundulla to record a 31 point win on the road.

The Crows got a nice psychological boost against the Tigers before they meet in week one of the finals.

Lewis Hender and Aaron Young kicked three goals each in the victory for the Crows.

George Johnson, Aaron Young and Daniel Bibby were the Crows’ best players.

Billy Wiese continued his consistent season with three goals for Mundulla in a losing effort.

Jack Guy, Devon Ridgway and Jake McGrice were the Tigers’ best players.

Kybybolite sealed the minor premiership with a 79 point victory over Penola.

The Tigers kicked amazingly straight at goal during the game as they recorded 18 goals and just one behind in the contest.

Billy Laurie led the way for the Tigers with five goals.

Kybybolite’s Brad Castine and Charlie Hillier kicked three goals each.

Jared Deep, Dylan Brodie and Oscar Clark were the best for Kybybolite.

Garrett Ha was the only Penola player to reach double figures with two goals.

The Eagles best players were Harrison Evans, Rhys Timms and Jayden Eldridge.

Bordertown had a solid win against a fighting Padthaway outfit on Saturday.

The Roosters found it hard to shake off the Lions for most of the contest until they were able to pull away a little in the fourth quarter and get a 14 point victory.

SEVEN GOAL HAUL: Kingston’s Todd Lockwood celebrates one of his seven goals.

Jacob Eats kicked six goals in the victory for the Roosters in a strong effort.

Curtis McCarthy kicked three goals to help out.

The Roosters’ best players were Jacob Eats, Troy Blackwell and Harrison Fromm.

Jordan Bell and Tobin Cox both led the way for Padthaway in the scoring department with five goals each.

The Lions’ best players were Jordan Bell, Jarred Archer and Nathan McCarthy.

Kingston continued their late season good form when they defeated Lucindale to record their fourth win in their past six games.

The Saints are building nicely for next season and Saturday’s 23 point victory over the Roos was another step towards that.

Todd Lockwood had a great day in front of the goals with seven goals for the Saints.

Thomas Matsouliadis and Jack Tapfield kicked two goals each to help in the victory.

Todd Lockwood, Thomas Matsouliadis and James Siviour were Kingston’s best players.

Tom Logan and Henry Tregoweth led the Roos’ scoring with two goals each.

Lucindale’s best players were Jack Yates, Riley Milne and Henry Tregoweth.

Border Districts had a big 91 point victory against Naracoorte on Saturday.

The Eagles got back on to the winners’ list as they look to find strong form before the finals start.

Harrison Pretlove and Dylan Schoenmakers kicked five goals each in the victory.

Fraser Adams, Harrison Pretlove and Sam Pridham were the Eagles’ best players.

Naracoorte found it tough to score and could only record three goals with singles to Sam Logan, Liam McKenny and Matt Willson during the contest.

The Demons’ best players were Matt Willson, George White and Blake East.

It’s round 15 in the league this weekend and on paper all the top five teams face a bottom five team.

Padthaway are on the road to Frances to face Border Districts on Saturday.

The Lions have been playing some good football lately and pushed the Roosters all game last weekend.

The Eagles will view this game as another chance to get ready for the finals and work out the different set ups they can tinker with.

The Lions are not without a chance of causing an upset but the Eagles look set to get a close win and continue towards defending their title in the finals.

Bordertown face Penola at home and the Roosters have started to find some winning form at the right time of the season.

The Roosters have won three of their past four games to make sure of their finals spot and head into the finals in winning form.

The Eagles embark on their last ever away game before they leave the competition at the season’s end.

Penola has been competitive lately and I can see them pushing the Roosters for most of the contest.

The Roosters should have too much depth for the Eagles across the ground on Saturday.

Kingston welcome Kybybolite to Gall Park Saturday and the Tigers are cruising towards the finals.

This should be a good competitive contest as Kingston’s midfield is good enough to win enough of the ball to challenge the Tigers midfield.

The difference in the teams is the scoring output.

The Tigers have more options in the forward lines than the Saints.

This looks like it will be the main reason why the Tigers are heavy favourites.

I think the game will be a great contest but the Tigers look to be too strong for the Saints.

Keith will look to keep the ball rolling when they face Naracoorte on Saturday.

The Crows are on a five game winning run as they look to head into the finals with some big momentum.

Naracoorte continued to show up each week and have a crack despite their young and inexperienced line up.

The Crows should have too much firepower for the Demons but for Naracoorte’s fans sake I hope the Demons put through 7-8 goals during the game.

Lucindale welcome Mundulla to Roo land on Saturday with the aim of trying to cause an upset in their last home game for the season.

The Tigers had a tough loss to the Crows last weekend so they will be looking to bounce back and get some form going in the next two weeks before the finals start.

Injuries killed what was a good start to the year by Lucindale as they have not won in two months.

I cannot see that changing on Saturday.

The Tigers should record a comfortable victory.
