Drivers taking part in the Variety Muscle Car Run created both a heart-racing and heart-warming visit to the Limestone Coast.
Motorists taking part in the eight-day charity trek rolled into the region with a number of cheques in hand, donating a total of $23,000 to a local sporting organisation and school.
On behalf of the McLaughlin Park Sports Incorporated, chairperson Craig Tunkin was presented a $20,000 cheque from Variety participants Robert Wann and Neville Phillips.
The funds will go toward upgrading the playground at the sporting complex, which is home to the Millicent football, netball, cricket, basketball and soccer clubs.
Participants also visited Gordon Education Centre where they were gifted with $3000 towards its café kitchen.
The funds will assist kicking off a breakfast program where students can learn food prep, service and money management, creating a sustainable small business within their school.
The presentations were one of the many activities the motorists locked in as a to do on their trek from Hahndorf to Phillip Island.
