Academic excellence recognised

Students across the Grant District Council community have been rewarded for their academic achievements.

Council annually sponsors $500 towards Academic Scholarship Awards for Year 10 to 12 students who reside within the council area.

These students must also demonstrate a number of selection criteria including their school’s values, an exemplary attendance record and intent to undertake tertiary education.

Council Deputy Mayor Gill Clayfield said she was exceptionally proud of all students that were recognised with a scholarship this year.

“Education is key for growth of our young people and a key part of council’s role in community development,” she said.

“All 2022 scholarship winners deserve a huge congratulations.

“Council is proud to able to support these students to achieve their study goals and advance in their chosen career pathways.

“We wish all award winners the very best with their current and future studies.”

2022 Grant District Council Scholarship Award winners were St Martins Lutheran College’s Nikita Anderson, Grant High School’s Gemma Ralph, Mount Gambier High School’s Brianna Bisnov, Tenison Woods College’s Maixence Williams and Sari Mutton and Allendale East Area School’s Luke Bald.
