Accreditation status lost

Visitor information centres at Millicent and Penola have lost their accreditation status and are no longer permitted to display certain industry branding.

However, Wattle Range Council has stated that its Penola visitor information centre will remain accredited by various industry bodies.

Council development services director Emma Clay said the deregistration of the Millicent and Beachport facilities which date back to the 1990s followed a council motion to review the operating costs of the three visitor information centres.

“Other than removal of all material with the yellow ‘i’, this change will not have an impact on the look and feel of these spaces (at Millicent and Beachport) but provide flexibility in opening times and staff resourcing,” Ms Clay said.

“Penola will remain as an accredited Visitor Information Centre with display of the yellow ‘i’.”
