Aged care Budget details unclear

AMillicent aged care provider is taking a wait-and-see approach to the latest Federal Government nationwide initiatives.

Boneham Aged Care Services chief executive Michael Filsell said he was waiting on more information regarding the impact on his 110 residents and 145 staff.

“The latest Federal Budget … has some small initiatives for aged care including the provision of pharmacy services to aged care homes,” Mr Filsell said.

“What form or shape this will take is still unclear so we await further details.

“There are other aged care initiatives due to be implemented in October this year including changes to how our funding is paid and implementation of minimum staffing hours across aged care homes.

“Again, we await the full detail of these initiatives before we can say whether there will be a major impact on Boneham Aged Care Services.”
