Bank reaches out
to Penola residents

The Community Bank Penola and District is offering contact-free deliveries of local supplies to Penola residents, an idea sparked by the ongoing COVID-19 situation in South Australia.

Community Bank Penola and District Branch Manager Tara Batt said staff were trying to do their bit to help the community.

“As a community bank, it’s high on our priorities to continue to look at different ways that we can support our local community,” Ms Batt said.

“Those that have contacted us had been very grateful for the service and it’s all worked well so far.”

The service extends to all local businesses, so people can receive supplies from wherever they need.

“It’s just what you do in small communities, you give when you can,” Ms Batt said.

The initiative will also benefit local businesses, with many impacted by the lack of summer tourists.

“It’s keeping everything in the town and supporting local, which is what, as a community bank, we’re all about,” Ms Batt said.

Ms Batt said the service will continue while the current COVID situation persists.

“As the situation evolves things might change, but I can see this being an ongoing service that we can do for our community to continue to support those in need,” she said.

People can call the branch on 8737 2400 to order and pay for their items, which will be delivered to their door.
