Local businesses and tradies are set to be big winners from the State Government’s $37m school and preschool maintenance boost, announced in last week’s budget.
The stimulus package provides a grant of $30,000 for every preschool in South Australia, as well as grants of between $20,000 and $100,000 for government schools, to engage local tradespeople to deliver priority maintenance works on their site.
The funding builds on the $16m already allocated annually to school and preschools, taking the investment in education maintenance this year to $53m.
