BrickGambier rebuilds

This weekend is set to be a Lego lover’s paradise as the fifth Empak Homes BrickGambier event gets under way at the Mount Gambier Showgrounds.

There will be about 60 Lego exhibits including 20 from Victoria which could not be displayed last year, 10 local displays and an exhibit from Tasmania.

Tables will be back this year allowing children to create with Lego.

The popular sensory friendly session will take place again from 9am Monday.

Empak Homes BrickGambier 2022 organiser Emma Robinson said she was glad there were not any of the major restrictions that were imposed on the event last year.

“To ensure visitor safety, timed sessions will be run from 10am but once you are in you can stay as long as you like,” she said.

“We want to share our love of the humble Lego brick and the joy it can bring, with the people around us.

“Lego has amazing potential for mindfulness because you can lose yourself in the creativity and take your mind off other things.

“We’re just excited to be putting this event on again for the local community.”
