There will be plenty of buck jumping action when the Penola Rodeo hits town on January 20.
Events will include bull riding, saddle bronc, bareback riding and barrel racing.
There will also be a live band and there will be plenty of food stalls and refreshments.
The McCorquindale Park event has a new committee, which has been working hard to pull together the event.
After the annual meeting the new committee was formed with some new and existing members.
Steve and Alan Moore, Georgie and Marci Beighton, Jarrad Eason and Kathy Fennell have stepped down from the committee.
Judy Mountford has been elected as president, with Will Goodes and Wade Deland sponsorship coordinators and other committee members include Michelle Barry (publicity), Amanda Gerritsen (secretary), Emma Castine (treasurer), Nathan Stanley, Dom Gerritsen, Scott Hetherington, Brian Nilsson, Katherine Hunter and Ebony Wurst.
New president Ms Mountford said proceeds from the rodeo will again be donated to the Penola Hospital, as well as local schools and community groups.
“Volunteers from the Penola high and primary schools along with the local tennis club will be manning the gates,” she said.
“The local Lions club will run the barbecue with the football club operating the bar.
“The bowling club will cater for the sponsors and the hunt club will run a barbecue for the riders and the Mary MacKillop school will have a soft drink stand.
“As in prior years, Woodall’s rodeo services will provide the arena, bulls and horses.
“The official naming partner for the rodeo is Merrett Logging. We thank them for once again coming on board.”
Ms Mountford said there were still sponsorship packages available in platinum, gold, silver, and bronze categories.
Gates open at 4pm with tickets for the rodeo on sale now through Ticketebo.
