Bushfire awareness call

Three community groups at Glencoe are joining together for a bushfire awareness and information session on the evening of October 23.

The night is being arranged by the Glencoe Progress Association and the Country Fire Service and will be held at the clubrooms of the Glencoe Football Club.

Wattle Range Council ward councillor and Glencoe Progress Association spokesman Dale Price said he was hoping for a good turn-out from the local community.

Mr Price said specialist CFS personnel would be in attendance to provide guidance for property owners and residents.

According to Mr Price, long-term weather forecasters indicated challenging fire conditions would prevail over the coming summer.
