The Mount Gambier Cancer Support Group hosted its inaugural forum last week to educate cancer patients and their families and friends about the resources available to them in the South East.
There were six guest speakers from the Limestone Coast region who spoke about their related jobs and a variety of stalls were run by organisations with information available.
Mount Gambier Cancer Support Group chair Lorraine Musgrove said there was a good response, with about 50 attendees.
“It was really amazing the amount of people who came to it and listening to all the guest speakers which were amazing,” she said.
“People have taken away information they have needed so it has been really successful.
“A big thankyou to Kevin Douglas because he was our MC and Travis Fatchen from Troy Bell’s office because they were amazing in helping us through that day and the RSL Bowling Club.
“It is the first time we have done an information forum and we would like to do another one and get different guest speakers.”
