Candidates given voice

The SE Voice will host a candidate forum for the seat of Mount Gambier later this month.

Plans are under way to host the forum at Mount Gambier’s City Hall complex.

The SE Voice owner/editor Lechelle Earl said it was important to host an independent and open forum to enable voters to hear firsthand from their nominated candidates.

“The SE Voice does not have any political affiliations or leanings, we pride ourselves on giving each and every person in our community a voice – and this extends to our political candidates,” she said.

“Mount Gambier is shaping to be a key seat when it comes to who will form government at the March 19 election.

“The importance of the seat is demonstrated by the fact that both the Liberal and Labor parties have nominated excellent candidates to try to defeat incumbent Independent MP Troy Bell.

“This makes for an exciting contest between three quality candidates in what we know is a very important seat.”

Well-known media personality Alan Richardson will emcee the event, which will be free to attend.

The SE Voice candidate forum will be held on Sunday, February 27 at 4.30pm.
