Carbon farm officer appointed

The Limestone Coast Landscape Board has appointed a new carbon farming project officer.

Carbon farming is a change to agricultural or land management practices that results in the reduction of carbon emissions or the sequestration of carbon in vegetation and soil.

The board has appointed Edel Stoner as its new Carbon Outreach Officer for the region.

With so much information available in a rapidly evolving space, Ms Stoner can provide independent information to support landholders to measure their properties for carbon emissions and capacity for carbon sequestration.

Ms Stoner can also provide advice and support on becoming a certified carbon neutral farm or business and explore the benefits of participating in carbon markets.

She will be offering carbon management workshops for landholders across the Limestone Coast in the near future.

Email edel.stoner2@sa.gov.au or visit www.landscape.sa.gov.au/lc to connect with Ms Stoner.
