Charity work starts young

Allendale East Area School raised over $1600 for Cancer Council SA by hosting its inaugural The Biggest Morning Tea at the Port MacDonnell Golf Club.

Throughout the morning there were potted daffodils for sale, raffles and lucky squares.

Allendale East Area School’s Tracy Bald, staff and the student leadership team enjoyed the opportunity to serve the community and ensure they had a wonderful time, whilst working towards raising valuable funds for the Cancer Council.

The school’s morning tea was the first to be held in the Port MacDonnell community for some time and it was a rewarding event for staff, students, and leadership to be a part of.

Mrs Bald said the successful event was made possible through time and effort invested by all those who contributed.

“It encouraged our young people and staff to go out into the community, to foster positive relationships, highlight our talents and show our willingness to give back to our community,” she said.

“There were many people that helped contribute to the event and we would sincerely like to thank all of them for their contributions and donations of baked goods, groceries, slices, pastries, and raffle prizes.”
