Country fire brigades welcome new facilities

New sheds for the Country Fire Service brigades at Mount Burr and Coonawarra are to be officially opened on October 9.

The ribbon-cutting ceremonies have long been held over due to COVID issues.

Emergency Services Minister Joe Szakacs heads the guest list of invited dignitaries.

As well as the shed festivities, up to 80 long-serving volunteer members of the Wattle Range CFS Group will receive National Medals and like awards.

In other local CFS news, the Kalangadoo brigade is set to take delivery of a new fire truck.
