Another bland wall in Millicent has recently undergone an artistic makeover.

Millicent is developing a reputation for its innovative street art with the latest example being the northern wall of the All-in-Balance office in George Street.

The otherwise unremarkable brick building was constructed for the State Bank around 60 years ago and has always been used as offices.

Millicent accountant and building owner Brad Tilley commissioned some exterior artwork in the form of a rainbow three years ago.

Mr Tilley engaged Millicent artist Ben Reynolds to add to this motif and is delighted with the outcome.

He gave the artist a free hand in the artwork.

“It was Ben’s idea to come up with a mental health message and I reckon it’s pretty cool,” Mr Tilley said.

“It reads ‘R U OK’.”

The painting of the building coincided with the “Christmas Eve in Millie” promotion staged last month by the Millicent Business Community Association and it attracted the attention of passers-by.

Meanwhile, preparatory work is under way for an exterior mural at the nearby Ignition Fitness gymnasium.

Wattle Range Council has provided a $5000 grant for this artwork.
