Croquet contests heat up for summer

With the weather starting to warm up the Mount Gambier Croquet Club is ready for a new season.

The club is opening the summer of croquet with a series of come and try days starting on Tuesday, October 4 hoping to attract some new players ahead of the special daylight saving program.

Mount Gambier Croquet Club member Jan Vitagliano said these sessions will be a great way for people to find a new hobby.

“The Mount Gambier Croquet Club is looking forward to playing during the warmer weather,” she said.

“Although we have not lost too many playing hours during winter and have travelled to and also hosted the Portland Croquet Club for successful casual fun days over the last few weeks.

“We are offering to new people come and try days early in October along with a special membership free for daylight saving for those who wish to join us.”

The club plays most days during the week and also enjoys twilight games on a regular basis.

The sport can be a great way to do exercise, meet new people, socialize, discover new skills and have fun.
