Cross-border croquet

The Portland Croquet Club was invaded by some Limestone Coast players when it hosted a weekend series of croquet games earlier this month.

Competitors from Mount Gambier, Warrnambool, Koroit, Casterton and Hamilton played Association, Richochet and Golf croquet in perfect weather conditions.

Due to COVID restrictions this was the first time in several years that members from Mount Gambier Croquet Club were able to travel across the border and play at Portland.

Two of Blue Lake based players enjoyed success with Leah O’Neal the runner-up in Association croquet.

O’Neal then teamed up with Raylene Anderson to finish equal second in Golf croquet.

The weekend competition provided an enjoyable opportunity for players to play on different courts and to make new croquet friends across the border.
