Police have arrested a man following an investigation into a hit-run collision in Mount Gambier last week.
Police were called to the intersection of Crouch Street North and Tolmie Street about 10.30am on July 31 after reports of a collision between a vehicle and a bicycle.
The cyclist, a 72-year-old Mount Gambier man, was taken to the Mount Gambier Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He was later airlifted to the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
The vehicle involved allegedly left the scene prior to police arrival. SAPOL advised earlier this week they had seized a vehicle for forensic examination.
As a result of investigations, a 42-year-old Limestone Coast man was arrested and charged on Tuesday with driving while disqualified, failing to give way, causing harm by dangerous driving, leaving an accident scene after causing harm and failing to report a crash.
The man has been refused bail and appeared in the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court yesterday.
