Disqualified drivers continue to flout law

Anumber of people faced the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court in front of Magistrate Koula Kossiavelos last week accused of driving whilst disqualified or suspended.

Seven defendants were accused of the offence, three of whom pleaded guilty with the other matters adjourned for a later date.

“It seems driving whilst disqualified is the ‘flavour of the month’ and we have had a few matters, some more serious than others,” Magistrate Kossiavelos said.

“When you commit this offence second time around, things become serious and imprisonment is in order according to the Supreme Court of South Australia.”
