Double bowls delight

Last week numbers were down slightly with 33 players going out to play some 2-4-2 action at Millicent Bowls Club.

Before going out to play, Millicent Bowls Club president Peter Hyland congratulated Brian Roper, Andre Reinders and David Reichelt on their achievement of winning the Lower South East Bowls Association Champion of Champions Triples competition at Naracoorte.

Once 2-4-2 play got under way at Millicent no one could stop Lorraine Hyland and Iain Campbell.

After completing 20 ends of bowls, Hyland and Campbell emerged on top with a score of 33+19.

Placing second was the team of Derreck Lindh and John Scudds with a score of 33+14.

Other winning teams for the day were Heather Carthew and Neil Whelan (32+18), Peter Bateman and Malcolm Wright (32+16), Jan Buhlmann and Andre Reinders (32+12), Arthur O’Connell and Derek Pietersma (32+10), Garry Wilson and Steve Carnellor (31+6) and Merle Stevens and Frank Cooper 29+2.
