Drink and drug drivers convicted

Anumber of defendants were convicted of drink and drug driving offences in the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court last week by Adelaide Magistrate John Wells through audio visual link.


A Limestone Coast man was convicted of drink driving after being pulled over by police on July 6 on Fidler Street, Mount Gambier and recording a BAC of 0.056.


The defendant was issued with a three month licence disqualification to take effect immediately and a $700 fine.


A 26-year-old South East man was convicted of drink driving after being pulled over by police on Jubilee Highway East in Mount Gambier on July 10 and recording a BAC of 0.088.


The defendant was issued with a six month loss of licence backdated to the date of the offence and a $900 fine.


A 52-year-old Limestone Coast man was convicted of drug driving after being pulled over by police on Glenelg River Road on March 14 and recording a positive result to cannabis.


The defendant was issued with a licence disqualification totalling six months and a $900 fine.
