An alleged drink driver crashed into a business in Millicent on Wednesday night.
Just before 11pm a Ford sedan crashed into a premises on Davenport Street causing significant damage.
The driver, a 57-year-old local man was breath tested and returned an alleged blood alcohol reading of 0.096.
He was reported for drink driving and issued with an immediate six month loss of licence.
He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
His car was towed from the scene.
Meanwhile, police have arrested a man following an alleged domestic assault and arson at Mount McIntyre.
Just before 8pm last Tuesday patrols
and CFS crews were called to a house after a car was torched.
Patrols spoke with the occupant who had allegedly been assaulted by a man known to her and had set the Holden utility alight before leaving.
Police located the suspect nearby and charged him with aggravated assault and arson.
The 40-year-old local man was refused bail to appear in the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court.
CFS crews extinguished the fire but not before significant damage was caused.
The arrested man was also issued with a Police Interim Intervention Order (PIIO), which provides further protection for the victim.
These orders provide police with greater powers to take immediate action to protect individuals and their families not only from physical violence – but also threatening and controlling behaviour.
The victim received minor injuries.
