Election posters defaced

Vandals armed with spray paint have taken to the city’s election posters with vengeance, less than 72 hours after they were erected.

Liberal candidate for Mount Gambier Ben Hood copped the brunt of the damage, with numerous posters targeted by the vandals.

Mr Hood said the vandal’s efforts were lacking in creativity.

“As an illustrator and an artist I do not think I’d be employing the people responsible as their creative skills are not up to scratch,” he said.

“It’s just an annoyance that people think they can do that.

“It’s also annoying because the Liberals last year tried to ban corflutes which would have been great if Labor and SA Best supported it and we did not have to put them up.

“But they have not been banned and everyone is putting them up.”
