End in sight for rail trail

Contractors are putting the final touches on the Penola Coonawarra Rail Trail.

In his report to Wattle Range Council, Engineering services director Peter Halton said the construction of the rail trail is almost complete.

“All the sealing works and line marking is now complete and the contractor is finishing road crossing barriers and road safety signage,” Mr Halton said.

“The contractor will then clean up the site and complete the car parking.

“The final stage will be the installation of signage to direct users to the trail including the interpretive signs.”
