Experience guides food organisation

The Limestone Coast Food and Agribusiness Cluster has appointed its inaugural chief executive.

Toni Duka has taken on the role, bringing with her a wealth of experience in regional wine and tourism, coupled with regional and community development.

Ms Duka has a strong understanding of the need for a food and agribusiness cluster in the region and is eager to continue the good work that has set the initial foundations for the group.

Cluster Chair Danielle Lannin England said Ms Duka had great local networks and knowledge that would prove invaluable as the cluster established itself.

“Toni’s knowledge of the people, the region and the businesses that make-up our region, will be instrumental in the first year of the new cluster,” she said.

“She brings to the team a strong project management and practical approach to developing the cluster.

“The board is really looking forward to working with her.”

The cluster will host two “Write your story – Provenance Workshops” in Mount Gambier and Naracoorte.

The workshops will be run with well-known national food and wine writer Katie Spain and Jimmy from Williams and Company Marketing.

Workshops will be held in Naracoorte on February 24 and Mount Gambier on February 25.

The workshops have been supported by the Limestone Coast Landscape Board through funding from the Federal Government’s National Landcare Program.
