Extension on agenda

The Blue Lake Golf Club car park extension proposal has been listed as an item for discussion at Mount Gambier City Council’s June monthly meeting being held today (Tuesday).

In his report, Council’s Governance and Property manager Michael McCarthy has made several recommendations regarding the proposal.

The report recommends the proposal be considered as part of the Crater Lakes Activation Plan preparation, and review and amendment of the Crater Lakes Community Land Management Plan, as well as associated stakeholder engagement and community consultation.

In addition, the report recommends staff work in partnership with the golf club to assess aspects in the advancement of the project.

The report recommends the golf club be responsible for covering any costs related to obtaining legal or professional advice.

In his report, Mr McCarthy has provided background on the proposal and its progress, a summary of responses from relevant units within the Department for Environment and Water, as well as the potential legal and resource implications.

Mr McCarthy’s seven-page report can be read in full in the meeting agenda available on council’s website.
