Fashionistas put their best foot forward at the Mount Gambier Gold Cup on Friday, showcasing the latest in autumn racewear.
Fashions on the Field organiser Abby Chapman said while numbers were restricted due to COVID policies, the judges had a tough time choosing winners from a high standard of entrants.
Peta Bell was named best dressed woman, with Fenella Barker runner up.
In the men’s stakes Rowan Thurlings claimed the honour, with Shaun Dunford runner up.
Isabelle Barker and Danny Chaplin rounded out the winners, named best dressed duo.
Judges were previous Fashions on the Field winner Brianna Scanlon, The Eighth Letter designer Hayley Smart and Helen Mary Millinery’s Helen Varcoe.
“There were some bright colours trending along with more traditional autumn and winter styles in deeper colours like blues and greens,” Mrs Chapman said.
“Feathers featured in both millinery and dresses and crowns were a popular choice.
“Overall the crowd really embraced the day with lots of attendees dressed up both on and off the stage.
“It was great to have the fashions competition back at the track and we hope to continue to make it a must attend event.”
Mrs Chapman said the competition had support from many local businesses who donated incredible prizes for the winners.
