Christmas came early to the Mount Burr general store in 2021 with a sold-out dinner.

American-born storekeeper George Copelin and his Aussie wife Rosie (pictured) and their staff welcomed diners to their Thomas Drive premises.

They extended its seated capacity to 50 and festooned the building with festive decorations including tablecloths in the traditional red and green Christmas colours.

A special liquor licence was obtained so beer, wine and spirits could be served.

Mr and Mrs Copelin have run the shop for over three years and have previously staged other dinners devoted to American food to mark Independence Day, Thanksgiving and Halloween.
