Flower fans plan spring showcase

The members of the Millicent Orchid Society are making arrangements for their annual Spring Show over the three days of the Labour Day long weekend.

There will be a colourful mix of large, small and quirky flowers and plants.

On show will be native Australian orchids to varities imported from Asia, South America and Europe.

Club members are happy to answer questions from the public.

The St Alphonsus Hall in George Street will be filled for the three days from October 2-4 with exquisite blooms from around 120 plants.

Admission to the show is by gold coin donation.

It is the 32nd annual event for the group and it has continued to attract orchid lovers across the Limestone Coast plus tourists passing through Millicent.

The accredited judges will award prizes and trophies.
