Flying Finn finds land down under

Eagle-eyed celebrity spotters might have spied Finnish Formula One driver Valtteri Bottas about the South East region in the past week.

Bottas and his South Australian professional cyclist girlfriend Tiffany Cromwell posted photographs to their social media accounts of their time at places like Beachport and Coonawarra.

In one picture shared with his 750,000 Facebook followers and 3.5 million Instagram followers, Bottas has swapped four wheels for two.

He is shown riding a bicycle along the spectacular Bowman Scenic Drive at Beachport with the Penguin Island lighthouse in the background.

The pair were also spotted in Mount Gambier and nearby sinkholes as they motored between Melbourne and Adelaide.

Bottas has been driving Formula 1 for major manufacturers for over a decade and has twice finished runner-up in the annual drivers’ championships.

In all, the 33-year-old has won 10 Grand Prix races and achieved 67 podium finishes from 200 starts, helping Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team to five world constructors’ championship titles during his five-year stint at the works Mercedes team.

The 2022 season finished last month at Abu Dhabi with Bottas and Cromwell currently relishing some down time.
