LIMESTONE Coast, South West and Horsham District Football Netball Leagues all return to the arena this weekend.
After two weeks off – the first while South Australia hosted the Gather Round and the second for Easter – Casterton Sandford head over the border to take on league newcomer, Penola, for the first time.
The Cats came out all guns blazing in round one, easily accounting for West Gambier’s 2024 Senior football premiers and scoring a win, for the first time in more than 10 years, over the Roos’ final regulars, the A Grade netballers.
Round two was not as good for the Cats, with Millicent taking the day’s honours.
Penola is yet to record a Senior football win but sits on equal points with the Cats on the A Grade netball ladder, ahead only on percentage.
In the South West league, Coleraine will be looking for its second win in Senior football, hosting Heathmere at Silvester Oval.
And Dartmoor’s Giants head down the road to Tyrendarra, in what should be a tight and hard-fought Senior football match.
The Maroons and Giants sit third and fifth, respectively, on the South West District Football League Senior Football ladder.
Horsham District heads into round three at the weekend.
Harrow Balmoral’s Southern Roos are sitting two-from-two on the ladder and take on the winless Kalkee at the Kalkee Recreation Reserve.
Edenhope Apsley will be looking for its first win of the year, taking on Kanive Leeor United at the Kaniva Recreation Reserve.
