AJames Siviour masterclass was the main talking point out of the fifth round of the Kowree Naracoorte Tatiara Football Season.
The Kingston key forward kicked seven goals in the Saints clash with archrival Lucindale as they battled it out for the Wilks Cup.
Lucindale jumped Kingston in the first quarter to have a five-goal lead at quarter time.
Kingston fought back in the second quarter to be within six points by half time.
Lucindale had most of the play in the third quarter but only kicked 1.7 with the breeze behind them. The Roos led by 12 points at the last change.
Kingston came home strong, and with James Siviour leading the way, they came away with a 13-point victory.
He kicked seven goals for the Saints and kicked six of the last eight goals in the contest.
Siviour, Ben Kennedy and Thomas Matsouliadis were Kingston’s best players.
William Gould and Ryan Kemp were the leading goal kickers for Lucindale with two goals each.
The Roos’ best players were Thomas Gould, Jack Yates and Riley McFarlane.
Kybybolite scored a comprehensive victory against Border Districts by 55 points.
The Tigers started well and never looked back as they kept their unbeaten run going to start the year.
William Shepherd continued his brilliant form to start the season by kicking five goals in the victory.
Henry Crauford and Thomas Taheny added three goals each in the victory.
Kybybolite’s best players were William Shepherd, Angus McKenzie and Billy Stretch.
The Eagles could only find one multiple-goal kicker in Samuel Smith, and their best players were Chase Bower, Joshua Richards and Grant Cother.
Keith had a dominant performance against Bordertown on Saturday, winning by 51 points.
The scores were tight in the first half before the Crows pulled away to record a convincing second-half victory.
Ben Simmounds and Arron Young led the scoring with four goals each.
The Crows’ best players were Will Schreiber, Aaron Young and Ryan Bartlett.
Thomas Worthley scored two goals for the Roosters, but they were outclassed.
Bordertown’s better players were Troy Blackwell, Thomas Worthley and Joshua Dodd.
Padthaway recorded their first win of the 2025 season when they faced Naracoorte on Saturday.
The Lions fought hard all game and came away with a strong 29-point win.
Tobin Cox and Troy Menzel were amazing in the forward lines for Padthaway with five goals each.
Cody Marshall, James Alexander and Jarryd Dolling were awesome for Padthaway in the victory.
Mathew Maney continued his consistent form for Naracoorte with three goals. The best players for Naracoorte were Dylan Ridding, George Pretlove and Josh Koennecke.
The clash of the undefeated this weekend as Kingston hosts Kybybolite.
Both teams have done their job in their games, and now they meet head-to-head.
The Saints have been strong in their defensive setup, while the Tigers have had a great offensive force.
The teams seem level in matchups.
Ben Kennedy has been a great addition to the Saints team, while Billy Stretch has been a big bonus to the Tigers.
This looks like it will be a toss of the coin. The Saints will be favourites because it is at home.
Bordertown will be the favourites to beat Naracoorte. The Roosters have been competitive against the league’s best teams without getting the wins, but they should have too much firepower for the Demons.
Keith will be a heavy favourite when they face Border Districts on Saturday.
The Crows are playing good, consistent football and getting their best team in to get continuity going as the season advances.
The Crows are starting to play their best football and should have too much for the Eagles to handle.
Mundulla hosts Lucindale and the Tigers, coming off the bye and at home, will be a tough ask for the Roos.
The Tigers will be keen to bounce back after their last game, where the Saints were too strong for them.
If Mundulla get a few key players back, they should be too strong and get across the line.
