Wattle Range Council will have three new faces following the announcement of the four-yearly statewide ballot results on Saturday afternoon.
The newcomers are David Walshaw (Corcoran ward), Richard Cassidy (Kintore ward) and Emma Castine (Riddoch ward).
There were 4171 votes cast in Wattle Range Council.
The count was conducted in the Millicent War Memorial Civic and Arts Centre and was overseen by deputy returning officer Frank Brennan.
There were contests in all four wards of Wattle Range Council while first-term mayor Des Noll was re-elected unopposed.
Those re-elected were Dennis Muhovics, Moira Neagle, John Drew and Peter Dunnicliff (Corcoran ward), Sharon Cox (Kintore ward), Dale Price and Deb Agnew (Sorby Adams ward) and Chris Brodie (Riddoch ward).
Councillors Cox and Dunnicliff jointly share the record as the longest-serving Wattle Range Council elected members as they were both first elected 16 years ago.
In effect, the pair had swapped wards for this poll.
Dean Burrow had represented Riddoch ward for the past 12 years but was unsuccessful in his bid for re-election.
This is a rarity in Wattle Range Council polls.
The other unsuccessful candidates were Lee Morgan (Corcoran ward), Robert Stewart and Gregory Moore (Sorby Adams ward) and Carrie Adamo (Kintore ward).
Mr Morgan had polled more first preference votes than Cr Dunnicliff but was overtaken after preferences were distributed.
Cr Muhovics achieved a record 44% share of first preference votes.
Mayor Noll and the 11 new and returning councillors will now undergo compulsory training in the coming fortnight on changes to the Local Government Act.
The training is a requirement for all 68 councils and will be delivered by personnel from an Adelaide law firm as well as the Local Government Association of South Australia.
All elected members will swear an oath before a Justice of the Peace ahead of the first official council meeting.
It will be held at the Millicent council chambers at 5pm on November 29.
If past practice is followed, the meeting will elect a deputy mayor and appoint representatives to council sub-committees and outside organisations.
Other routine business such as staff reports, financial statements and correspondence is also expected on the agenda.
There have been seven elections since Wattle Range Council was formed in 1997 and three occasions when the incumbent Mayor was re-elected unopposed.
This feat was also achieved by the late Don Ferguson in 2003 and by Peter Gandolfi in 2014.
