If you go down to the woods in March you could be in for a big surprise – the enchanted woodlands that is, in the heart of Mount Gambier.
The fabulous Fringe Mount Gambier will return from March 12-21 next year and organisers are proud to announce their principal partner is returning with them.
Despite the modified program due to COVID safe procedures, Optus has again taken up naming rights sponsorship of the Fringe Festival, dubbed “mini” Fringe to reflect the program’s new direction after large scale events were canceled this year due to the pandemic.
Fringe Marketing Manager Talie Teakle said the festival would take on an enchanted woodlands theme for 2021.
“We are aiming for even more engagement from business owners and the community with an expanded FringeUPprogram,” she said.
“This time, instead of blue stars there will be a focus on magical forest creatures, with blue mushrooms, butterflies, pixies, bunnies and elves.
“So, brush off your fairy wings and get ready to FringeUP not only your shopfronts, but also your home fronts, with special prizes for each category.
“We all love driving by Christmas lights in December, so why not roll out the fairy lights for March as well? “We’ll be putting together an evolving map of locations as they register, so let’s make Mount Gambier magical in March!”
Ms Teakle said FringeUP would be complemented by a series of events in venues around Mount Gambier as well as an outreach program to schools called FringeOUT.
“We will also have an online program featuring workshops, performances and screenings that we will bring to your homes called FringeIN,” she said. “Keep watching social media and The SE Voice for more details as they unfold, and expect the unexpected.”
