First there was Edinburgh Fringe, then there was Adelaide Fringe – and now there is Coonawarra Fringe.
All the fun and festivities of Fringe will take over one of Australia’s best known wine regions which will come alive with a mix of national and international artists for the first Coonawarra Fringe from February 16 to 18.
Held in some of the most iconic wineries in Australia, shows include the BBC’s Tim Marriott, fresh from sell-out performances in Edinburgh, presenting two international shows.
His first show is Watson: The Final Problem, the story of the famous detective Sherlock Holmes’ side- kick Watson, and his battle with the evil Moriarty.
This is a gripping thriller that received rave reviews at last year’s Edinburgh and Adelaide Fringe festivals.
Tim’s second show is called Jack’s Ashes and is for all the cricket fans and tragics, as it follows the emotional challenges in the rooms while batsmen wait for the fall of the next wicket.
Anyone who has experienced the nerves of being next will thoroughly enjoy the show.
A show that is sure to attract plenty of interest is The Wine Bluffs, presented by Damian Callinan (The Merger) and Paul Calleja (The Project).
This takes a lighthearted look at what is commonly called “wine wankers”, anyone who has worked in a cellar door or the wine industry knows what that means.
Also over the weekend there will be activations at all the sites along the Coonawarra Wineries Walking Trail, including food, wine and lots of Fringe fun.
Limited tickets to these shows are now on sale at Adelaide Fringe, book now to avoid disappointment.
