Geltwood festival returns

After two years of COVID-related cancellations, the much-anticipated Geltwood Craft Festival will be staged in Millicent from Friday until Monday.

Festivities get under way on Friday night with the official opening at the Millicent Gallery.

Once again, 250 quilts will be displayed around the Millicent precinct.

The Lions Family Market Day on Sunday along a closed George Street will showcase local stall holders, live music will be provided by Jason and Christy Wallace and there will be performances by Hype, Millicent Gymnastics Club and the Millicent Choral Society.

The model train exhibition at the Millicent RSL Hall on Saturday and Sunday will bring together five model railway layouts for community viewing.

The Imagine Millicent Arts Group (IMAG) has two special events on the weekend.

It will host a fundraising cocktail party and charity auction at Ignition Fitness on Saturday night with music by JB and Crowey.

On the following morning, there will be a Mural and Sculpture Walk through the arts precinct of Millicent.

Across the weekend, there will be workshops in such realms as painting, stitching and patch-working.

There will be free entry to the Millicent National Trust Museum on Sunday.

The Geltwood Craft Festival will finish on Monday with a Quilting Convention at the Millicent War Memorial Civic and Arts Centre.
