Kingston hosted 75 South East Veterans golfers on a fine but windy day.

The course was in great condition and the best score for the day was Paul Bosco’s 39 points in Division 1.

Tony Steen was runner up with 36 and Lindsay Storer finished with 35.

Division 2 was won by Wayne Peters with 38 from Brian Pennell on 36 and Pat Ryan on 35.

The Ross Orchard trophy went to Gary Watts and Gavin Sparrow and the Scotch was taken to Robe again, this time by Ian Regnier.

A long (15 metre) miracle putt on the 7th, was observed by this scribe watching Lyndsay Copeman, who cheekily turned around and challenged me to do the same. So I did! Mine was 14.8m.

The nearest the pins went to Ken MacIntyre, Kym Sandford and Alan Schultz.

On Feb 19 the golfers will return to the seaside at Robe, followed by Blue Lake on March 4 and the AGM at Mount Gambier on March 18.
