Golf club chips away at rebuild plans

Amajor step has recently been taken by the Millicent Golf Club for the development of facilities at its Mount Burr course.

After many months of planning, the club has lodged plans with the regulatory authorities for the demolition of its ageing clubrooms dating back to 1961 and the building of a new structure.

The plans are currently going through the mandated assessment process.

Club officials have repeatedly stated the ambitious building project would require the backing of the three tiers of government and the support of the club.

The clubrooms project is not the only infrastructure being considered by the Millicent Golf Club.

The preliminary cost for a new irrigation system for the 18-hole course is about $100,000.
