Golfers swing into action for charity event

The recent Ambrose Golf Day held at the Millicent Golf Club was a huge success raising $4600.

Sisters Kristy Ryan and Lauren Halliday organised the day as a tribute to their late golfing father Arch Sunderland who died of cancer in 2021.

120 players took to the field in very warm conditions but they were very well hydrated by members of the Millicent Golf Club out on the Mount Burr Course.

Two teams from Edenhope and a team from Serviceton in Victoria participated.

A barbecue cooked by Kym Sunderland, Ashley Madden and Damian Ryan was provided to all participants during play as they passed the clubhouse.

The first 12 place getters all received a prize, kindly donated by local business houses, the support which was tremendous and very much appreciated.

Taking out first prize was the team of Jamie Muhovics, Jason Werchon, John Shanks and Scott Lonergan.

The involvement of the two sisters with cancer fund raising is part of the 2023 Tour de Cure charity bike ride.

While Tour de Cure is a national organisation, the funds raised will stay in South Australia and will be split evenly between Tour de Cure’s South Australian partners, Flinders Foundation and UniSA.
