Grocery price gouging in sights

The Select Committee on Grocery Pricing in SA will be hearing evidence in Mount Gambier this week.

The Select Committee is chaired by Greens MLC Robert Simms and is considering the prevalence of price gouging practices and anti-competitive behaviour among grocery retailers; the impact of retail consumer pricing on consumers, particularly for those on low incomes; and potential opportunities for price monitoring, transparency in retail pricing and further regulation of pricing.

The committee will hear evidence from 1:30-3.10pm on Thursday and from 9.15-10am and 10:30-12.30pm on Friday and the proceedings will be open to the members of the public.

It will meet in the Oak Tree Room at The Barn, Mount Gambier
