Aceremony was recently held to celebrate the 2022 Automotive Industry Group South East Apprentice Awards.

The Automotive Industry Group South East Inc had asked employers, Registered Training Organisations, schools and Australian Apprenticeships Centres to identify and encourage potential students, apprentices and trainees in the automotive industry to nominate for the 2022 Automotive Industry Group South East Apprentice Awards.

Nominations had been accepted from people who are currently undergoing automotive training through a Registered Training Organisation in the Limestone Coast.

Categories were open to full time apprentices who are currently working in the automotive industry in the Limestone Coast and there were categories open to school students undertaking training at an Automotive Skills Centre, either in Mount Gambier, Millicent, or Bordertown or those undertaking an Australian school based apprenticeship.

Automotive Industry Group South East vice chairman Andrew Norman said the purpose of the group was to aid in the training and development of automotive trainees and apprentices in the South East.

“We are dedicated to the advancement of youth in automotive careers and supported by an enthusiastic representation from the automotive industry,” he said.

“We acknowledge the support from all our industry supporters, so a special mention must go to our gold and silver sponsors for their support which has not been as visible as normal.

“Gold event sponsors are Brandt Tractors, Tafe SA and Burson Auto Parts.

“Silver event sponsors are Barry Maney Group, Tuffnel family, K&S Freighters and Velocity Truck centre, Mt Gambier Isuzu, and Carlin and Gazzard.

“On behalf of the AIG-SE I would like to congratulate all the winners for this year.”
